The Baltimore Orioles and the Oakland A’s face off on Sunday at Camden Yards in game two of their series.
The Baltimore Orioles are looking to get back to the post season and they helped their cause on Saturday knocking off the A’s. Adam Jones had two hits including a home run, David Lough hit a home run, and Nick Markakis had a hit as the Orioles scored six runs on seven hits in all. Starting pitcher Kevin Gausman allowed four hits and a run while striking out six over 7.0 innings to get the win and go to 1-1 for the season. For Sunday’s game the Orioles start Ubaldo Jimenez who has three no decisions and two losses in his last five starts. For the season Jimenez has allowed 65 hits and 33 earned runs while striking out 64 over 67.2 innings for a 2-6 record and a 4.39 ERA.

The Oakland A’s continue to be one of the more dominant teams in baseball this season but they took a step back losing in Baltimore on Saturday. Coco Crisp had three hits including a home run, Kyle Blanks had a hit and drove in two runs, and Yoenis Cespedes had a hit as the A’s scored three runs on seven hits. Starting pitcher Sonny Gray allowed four hits and five runs while striking out seven over 5.1 innings to take the loss and fall to 6-2 for the season. For Sunday’s game the A’s start Scott Kazmir who is coming off of a no decision in his last start. For the season Kazmir has allowed 59 hits and 20 earned runs while striking out 63 over 75 innings for a 6-2 record and a 2.40 ERA.
Baltimore is 3-7 in their last 10 home games, 1-6 in game three of a series, and 3-7 in Jimenez’s last 10 starts as an underdog. Oakland is 6-1 against a team with a winning record, 36-15 as a favorite, and 6-1 in Kazmir’s last seven road starts.
