The Boston Red Sox continue their their series with the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards on Tuesday.
The Red Sox seemed to be getting on the right track a few short weeks ago but things have gone south lately with defeats in six of seven following a 4-0 defeat at Baltimore on Monday. Starter Jake Peavy gave up all four runs on three long balls over seven innings of work. The bats never got going with only three hits and a trio of base on balls with four runners left in scoring position. The Red Sox turn to Brandon Workman to even their series at Baltimore on Tuesday. Workman has yet to earn a decision and is 0-0 with 3.74 ERA in three outings.

Baltimore has climbed back in to second in the American League East but at only two games over .500 I think this division is the Blue Jays and everybody else right now although the Birds have won six of nine after defeating the Red Sox on Monday. With the win the Birds assured themselves they would maintain their grip on second in the division. Bud Norris was outstanding with a three hit shutout over eight innings to even his record at 5-5. The bats played the power game with Ryan Flaherty and Adam Jones went solo while Nick Markakis clubbed a two run bomb. A struggling Chris Tillman takes the mound versus Boston on Tuesday night. Tillman is 1-0 in his last three despite an 8.10 ERA with the offense coming to his rescue.
I think Tillman is the better hurler although you would never know it by what he has done lately. I'm just going on potential here and maybe some hope...
