The Atlanta Braves look for another win when they take the field against the Colorado Rockies.
With Washington playing their best baseball Atlanta needs to keep winning to hold on to the top spot in the East and have gotten the job done at Coors Field thus far with consecutive victories. The Braves let their bats do the talking in a 13-10 win over Colorado on Tuesday. The offense was needed with Mike Minor allowing eight runs in four innings. The bats pounded out 16 hits with Freddie Freeman, Andrelton Simmons and Evan Gattis slugging home runs and driving in a combined eight runs. The Braves are scheduled to start Julio Teheran on the mound to face the dangerous Colorado attack. Teheran is 6-3 with a 1.89 ERA in 13 outings.

The Rockies really looked like a team to keep an eye on in the early going but they have fallen on hard times lately. Colorado has one win in their last eleven contests after being outscored Tuesday. The Rockies played from behind early as they trailed 7-0 in the top of the first. Juan Nicasio was hit hard with ten runs scored on eleven hits including three long balls through 3.2 innings. The offense made a game of it on 13 hits and six bases on balls that saw Wilin Rosario leave the yard and drive in two while Justin Morneau singled in two. Rookie left hander Tyler Matzek makes his first career start against visiting Atlanta. The Rockies have been struggling on the mound and need a quality arm.
Atlanta proved they can be dangerous at the plate and a few of those runs would be handy in supporting Teheran who is one of their best pitchers. I don't know what Matzek will do so I'll back Atlanta who tends to struggle versus guys they haven't seen...
