The Baltimore Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays face off on Friday at Camden Yards for game two of their series.

The Baltimore Orioles are in second place in the AL East and they cut into the Blue Jays lead in the division beating them on Thursday. Delmon Young had two hits including a home run and Nick Markakis and Nelson Cruz each had two hits as the Orioles scored four runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Kevin Gausman allowed five hits and a run while striking out three over 6.0 innings to get the win to go to 2-1 for the season and Zach Britton earned his sixth save. For Friday’s game the Orioles start Ubaldo Jimenez who has lost his last three starts. For the season Jimenez has allowed 67 hits and 39 earned runs while striking out 66 over 70 innings for a 2-7 record and 5.01 ERA.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Toronto Blue Jays Pick, Odds, Prediction 6/13/14

USA TODAY Sports

The Toronto Blue Jays never got it going on Thursday as they fell behind in the first inning and never caught the Orioles. Jose Reyes, Melky Cabrera, and Jose Bautista each had hits as the Blue Jays scored two runs on seven hits. Starting pitcher Mark Buehrle allowed eight hits and four runs while striking out three over 6.1 innings to take the loss and fall to 10-3 for the season. For Friday’s game the Blue Jays start Drew Hutchinson who is coming off of a loss in his last start. For the season Hutchinson has allowed 69 hits ad 33 earned runs while striking out 67 over 75 innings for a 4-4 record and a 3.96 ERA.

Baltimore is 8-1 against the AL East, 5-2 against a right-handed starter, and 0-6 in Jimenez’s last six home starts. Toronto is 7-1 against the AL East, 11-2 in their last 13 road games, and 1-4 in Hutchison’s last five starts as a favorite.

The Orioles got the best of it on Thursday but I look for the Jays to bounce back as Jimenez just doesn’t look like he has his best stuff working.
