The Los Angeles Dodgers look to make up some ground in the standings with a win over the Colorado Rockies.
Colorado had been fading for several weeks but have caught fire with five consecutive victories before dropping back to back contests to the Dodgers. The offense that had been hot during the winning streak were quiet in Tuesday's 4-2 defeat to Los Angeles. Jhoulys Chacin gave up three runs in six innings to absorb the loss with a pair of homers doing him in. The Rockies had plenty of baserunners with eleven hits and four BB but only recieved RBI's from Wilin Rosario and Corey Dickerson. Jorge De La Rosa looks to pitch his team past the rival Dodgers in a NL West tilt. De La Ros has struggled the last two times out with seven runs allowed on nine hits and six BB in 8.1 innings.

The Dodgers have been playing well at the right time with first place San Francisco struggling. The LAD have won seven of ten after knocking off visiting Colorado for the second straight night. The work on the mound and at the plate have been on the same page during the hot streak although the pitching shouldered the load Tuesday. Zack Greinke looked as good as ever with a run scored on six hits and a pair of free passes through six frames. The long ball carried the Dodgers with Hanley Ramirez, Carlos Triunfel and Matt Kemp connecting on solo homers. Left hander Clayton Kershaw toes the rubber in a Wednesday bout with the Rockies. Kershaw has been solid in an injury shortened season thus far with a 6-2 record and 2.93 ERA.
The Rockies were pounding the ball before scoring three times in two nights at Los Angeles and facing Clayton Kershaw isn't likely to help their scoring or at least I hope so...
