The surging Milwaukee Brewers shoot for consecutive victories over the Colorado Rockies.
Milwaukee has been playing well once again and in the process have been holding off the challengers in the National League Central. Both the arms and bats have been contributing but it was all offense in a 13-10 series opening win at Coors Field. Starter Marco Estrada picked up the win but he was awful again with seven runs plated in 5.2 frames. The Brewers racked up 19 hits with Jean Segura, Khris Davis and Aramis Ramirez driving in three runs apiece. Milwaukee turns to Wily Peralta for Saturday's outing against the high scoring Rockies. Peralta is one reason the Brewers are tops in the Central with a 7-5 record and ERA of 2.98.

Colorado has been hot and cold and that's dropped them to third in the National League West and has them needing a hot streak just to reach .500. On top of that Los Angeles and San Francisco are threatening to make the division a two team race. Friday's loss was number five in a row with the pitching getting hit hard. Christian Bergman took the loss with seven runs scored in 3.1 frames with the pen allowing six more runs. The offense smacked around Brewers pitching to the tune of 16 hits with Justin Morneau driving in five while Corey Dickerson and Brandon Barnes combining for five RBI's. Colorado hands the ball to left hander Christian Friedrich who makes his first start since 2012. The Rockies are looking for some quality innings and give Friedrich a chance to join the rotation.
I went with Milwaukee in the opener because of the plus odds and Peralta is much better then Estrada although he hasn't been great lately. I'll back the Brewers who have done very well on the road...
