The Cincinnati Reds look to get back in the win column against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigey Field.
Cincinnati has been playing their best baseball of 2014 and you can be certain the rest of the National League Central is keeping an eye on them. The Reds had won seven of ten heading in to Tuesday where the Cubs came away with a 7-3 decision. Homer Bailey was charged with four runs over 5.1 frames with Sam LeClure allowing three unearned runs which proved to be too much for the offense and their five hits. Devin Mesoraco swung the big bat with a long ball and two RBI's with two runs scored. The Reds hand the ball to Mat Latos who makes just his 3rd start when he faces the Cubs on Wednesday. Latos struggled in a 14-9 loss to Toronto with five runs scored over 5.2 innings.

The Cubs sometimes score and sometimes look good on the mound with the key being that both struggle to get on the same page which explains their record. They got both Tuesday to help end a three game skid against one of their biggest rivals. Jake Arrieta continued to impress with a pair of runs plated on three hits through seven frames while striking out nine to improve to 4-1. The offense made the most of six hits and a trio of bases on balls with Anthony Rizzo slugging his 17th homer while Welington Castillo ripped a two run double. The Cubs give Wednesday's start to veteran Edwin Jackson who hopes to contain the dangerous bats of Cincinnati. Jackson has struggled over his last three with a 1-2 record and 7.47 ERA in 15.2 innings.
The thing that sticks out to me is a Cincinnati club that is playing their best at a very reasonable price and if Latos is really 100% then the Reds are the choice...
