The Cincinnati Reds travel to the west coast where they open a series with the San Francisco Giants.
Cincinnati might be the team to watch as they are getting healthy and winning which is always a good combination. The Reds been getting good pitching and hitting with wins in seven of ten after knocking off the Cubs by a 4-1 count at Wrigley Field. Mat Latos brought his 'A' game with the lone run plated on five hits through seven innings of work to win his first. The Reds made the most of seven hits and five free passes with Jay Bruce logging two hits and driving in two. The Reds open the series on the mound at San Francisco with Mike Leake. Leake has some decent numbers but hasn't been winning with a 5-6 record and 3.69 ERA in 15 outings.

San Francisco has been in more then a slow period as I would say slump fits their current state. The Giants have been struggling in all areas but perhaps Wednesday's 4-0 victory over visiting San Diego is a turning point. Tim Lincecum returned to Cy Young form with a complete game no hitter with just a walk issued while striking out six. The bats racked up eleven hits and walked three times with Buster Posey going 4-4 with a pair of RBI's. Ryan Vogelsong toes the rubber in the series opener versus visitng Cincinnati. Vogelsong has struggled lately with a 1-1 record over his last three appearances with an ERA just south of eight.
I have a feeling San Francisco wins this but I also don't like the way Vogelsong has been looking. Leake hasn't looked great but his team is winning. Tough one for the Reds who travel as well so I'm probably skipping this one...
