The Milwaukee Brewers hope to stay on a roll with another victory over the Colorado Rockies.

Colorado has been fading even though they possess the big time offense because opponents have been scoring even more. The pitching has to lend a hand and prevent having to win by the shootout. That didn't happen in a 7-4 defeat in the series opener at Milwaukee where the bats couldn't quite keep up with the pitching. Christian Friedrich gave up five runs on two homers over four frames with Thomas Kahnle serving up a two run bomb in the 8th. The offense consisted of Ryan Wheeler's grand slam but nothing else. Tyler Matzek is scheduled to be on the bump to face the heavy hitting Brewers for the second straight time. In that start Matzek gave up five runs on seven hits over 5.1 innings of a 6-5 loss.

What has made Milwaukee such a dangerous team is their ability to both hit and pitch. Both will have to continue to perform with the National League Central having plenty of dangerous teams that can string wins together in a hurry. Thursday's win was their 8th in eleven contests with Wily Peralta tagged for a 4th inning grand slam. Four relievers held the Rockies off the scoreboard while Rickie Weeks, Scooter Gennett and Aramis Ramirez each connecting on long balls wiith the latter two knocking in two runs apiece. The Brewers give Friday's start to Kyle Lohse who is in the midst of a career type season. Lohse is 9-2 with a 3.20 ERA over 16 starts with Milwaukee going 12-4 in his outings.

There are no sure things in this game but I think we have to look at the hotter team at home. The juice is high but the alternative is backing a struggling squad...
