The Texas Rangers hope to avoid getting swept by the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards Wednesday.
The Rangers look took to put a few games in the win column before the All Star break to get a little positive momentum going. That wasn't happening Tuesday in an 8-3 loss which has Texas looking at defeats in nine of eleven. Nicholas Martinez was charged with all eight runs with three long balls doing him in over five innings of work. The Rangers totaled ten hits with Adam Rosales leading the way with a two run double. Career reliever Miles Mikolas makes his first ever start against the dangerous Orioles. Mikolas has 34 innings of relief under his belt where he has gone 2-1 with an ERA of 3.60.

Baltimore can be a streaky team and I think they need to avoid the hot and cold streaks going forward to be effective in the American League East. Both the arms and bats were on the same page with Tuesday's win giving the Birds back to back victories. TJ McFarland made a rare start an was outstanding with a pair of runs allowed on seven hits through five frames. The bats scored early and often with Steve Pearce, Nelson Cruz and Caleb Joseph going deep and combining for six RBI's while Nick Markakis doubled in two more. IChris Tillman is expected to get Wednesday's start versus the visiting Rangers. Tillman is hoping to continue his recent surge where he has gone 2-1 in the last three with 1.64 ERA.
I don't know what we'll see from Mikolas and sometimes Tillman has been a mystery but all I can do is go with what I see...
