The Atlanta Braves hope to begin another hot streak when they squareoff with the New York Mets at Citi Field.
As I have said many times in the past, when Atlanta is hot they are more then a handful although the opposite is true when things are heading in the other direction. They could be going the other way with three defeats in a row after an 8-3 loss at Citi Field. Ace Julio Teheran was hit hard with five runs plated on eleven hits over 3.1 innings to take the loss. Despite 13 hits the Braves struggled to score until late with Freddie Freeman driving in a pair in the 9th. The Braves are scheduled to send Ervin Santana to the hill to face the Mets for the third time in 2014. Santana defeated New York twice with a combined one run scored over 15 innings pitched.

I can't say the Mets are the easiest team to predict because they always surprise whether it's good or bad. New York has won three in a row and have given first place Atlanta fits for the second straight night behind great hitting and pitching. Jacob deGrom tossed the best game of the season thus far with a seven hit shutout over seven innings of work with the pen stumbling late. NewYork launched an 18 hit assault that featured Curtis Granderson's 14th homer and Daaniel Murpjy's two RBI's while every starter recorded at least one hit. New York starts Dillon Gee for the first time since coming off the disabled list on Wednesday. Before getting hurt Gee had gone 3-1 with a 2.73 ERA over eight outings where the team went 4-4.
I typically don't wager on either team often because I don't trust them for lack of a better word. I don't know how long Gee will be allowed to go either but I'll give the Mets a shot as a home dog...
