The Colorado Rockies and the Minnesota Twins face off on Friday at Coors Field for game one of their interleague series.

The Colorado Rockies are having a tough year as they have once again struggled on the road. The Rockies are 23-23 at home, 3-7 in their last 10 games, and they have won their last two games. As a team the Rockies are hitting .279 with Troy Tulowitzki hitting .350, Justi Morneau hitting .306, and D.J. LeMahieu is hitting .275. As a team the Rockies pitching staff has an ERA of 5.02 with the starters at 5.33 and the bullpen at 4.50. For game one against the Twins the Rckies start Jorge De la Rosa who has won his last three starts. For the season De La Rosa has allowed 85 hits and 51 earned runs while striking out 70 over 96.2 innings for a 9-6 record and a 4.75 ERA.

Colorado Rockies vs. Minnesota Twins MLB Pick, Odds, Prediction 7/11/14

USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Twins are in last place in the AL Central but they have shown signs of improvement this season. The Twins are 21-27 on the road, 5-5 in their last 10 games, and they have won their last three games. As a team the Twins are hitting .244 with Kurt Suzuki hitting .303, Joe Mauer hitting .271, and Sam Fuld is hitting .270. As a team the Twins pitching staff has an ERA of 4.27 with the starters at 4.84 and the bullpen at 3.25. For game one against the Rockies the Twins start Kris Johnson who makes his second start of the year. In his last start Johnson allowed four hits over 4.1 innings but he walked six batters and struck out five without allowing a run.

Colorado is 4-1 in their last five interleague home games, 16-37 in their last 53 games, and 4-1 in De La Rosa’s last five interleague starts. Minnesota is 2-6 against the NL West, 4-12 in their last 16 interleague games, and 0-5 in game one of a series.

De La Rosa is tough at home and I look for him to be tough here and get the win for Colorado.
