The National League and American League battle it out in the 2014 All Star Game on Tuesday night.
I seldom list the lineups for the All Star game as everybody knows them and there will be late replacements due to injuries or pitchers unable to throw after performing over the weekend but suffice to say that both sides have an enormous amount of talent. Derek Jeter makes his last appearance as he retires at the end of 2014 while the rosters themselves are loaded with first time participants. Of course there are an endless amount of arguments about who should have or shouldn't have made the team which is why I generally refrain from naming players (aside from the fact we know them already).

However I still have to look at the lineups and the bench players as well as the pitching because that's what the game comes down to; hitting, pitching and defense which are the ingredients to winning any game. The American League is the favorite and my belief is they have some of the better teams but in the All Star game not so much the better roster. I think the respective teams are rather balanced but I give the starting lineup of the NL the advantage with the pitching edge as well. Again, picking the winner in this game is splitting hairs and really is a matter of opinion with any one guy able to make the crucial play at any time.
I'm personally going to take a small shot on the NL for the afforementioned reasons at the better odds as I believe the teams are obviously even enough in the talent department to make this a tossup. That being the case I see no reason to lay chalk. I also believe this isn't a big betting opportunity so throw a few bucks on this and enjoy it with the rest of the regular season coming with far better money making opportunities.
