Colorado has gone from third to 5th in the National League West with the only obtainable goal being to escape the division basement. The Rockies woes continued in 5-3 defeat at Pittsburgh for loss number five in a row. Starter Tyler Matzek gave up three runs through seven frames in a no decision effort with the loss going to Matt Belisle who gave up a pair of 7th inning runs that broke a 3-3 tie. The Rockies did all their scoring by the second inning with Josh Rutledge clubing a two run bomb in the first with Michael McKenry smacking a solo bomb in the second. Left hander Franklin Morales gets the call to the mound to face the Nationals for the first time. Morales has thrown the ball well the past two times out with two runs plated over 10.2 frames.
Colorado has been struggling but they can be tough at Coors field. Washington has been playing well and with Fister on the mound I will back them...
