The Milwaukee Brewers look to sweep the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday afternoon.
The Reds are 0-5 since the All Star break and now just two games above a .500 record. The issue for the Reds continues to be a lack of offense, as they’ve produced three or less runs in five straight games. The Reds have lost nine straight games when scoring three or less runs. Todd Frazier has homered three times in his last seven games and Billy Hamilton has scored a run in six of his last 10 games. Pitching wise, the Reds have an ERA of 3.50, which is good for ninth in the majors. Mike Leake takes the hill, and he’s 7-8 with a 3.63 ERA and has 102 strikeouts in 134 innings. Leake is 2-1 with a 4.43 ERA in seven career starts against the Brewers.

The Brewers are 3-2 since the All Star break and have improved to 11 games above a .500 record. The Brewers pitching staff was terrible earlier in the month of July, but may have needed this series to get back on track, as they’ve allowed a combined five runs in this series. Overall, the Brewers have an ERA of 3.80, which is 16th in baseball. Offensively, Ryan Braun has a 10-game hitting streak and Jonathan Lucroy homered twice in Tuesday’s win. Starting is Kyle Lohse, who is 10-4 with a 3.16 ERA and has 98 strikeouts in 134 innings. Lohse is 5-5 with a 3.01 ERA in 17 career starts against the Reds.
The Reds are 4-1 in Leakes last 5 road starts vs. a team with a winning record and 7-1 in Leakes last 8 Wednesday starts. The Brewers are 9-2 in Lohses last 11 starts vs. a team with a winning record and 14-5 in Lohses last 19 starts overall.
This is actually a decent price for a team that's pretty much domainted in this series and has the better pitcher on the mound. Give me the Brewers at home for the sweep.
