The Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks square off in game two of their series at Citizen's Bank Park.
The Diamondbacks are similar to the team that challenged early in the National League West a year ago but the results have been much different with an ultra slow start essentially ending their season early. The Snakes struggled on the mound in a 9-4 loss at Philadelphia Friday with starter Wade Miley tagged for six runs with the pen letting this one get out of hand. The offense had opportunities on an eleven hit, three walk attack with Alfredo Marte connecting on a 6th inning grand slam. The Diamondbacks turn to Josh Collmenter on the bump at Philadelphia Saturday night. Collmenter has been one of the top hurlers for Arizona with an 8-5 record and 3.64 ERA.

The Phillies hopes that they could squeeze out another National League East title with the current roster has turned out to be just that; hope. Not enough hitting or pitching have Philadelphia staring at the division basement. They received enough of both Friday with Kyle Kendrick allowing three runs over 5.2 innings when he left with bases loaded and Antonio Bastardo served up a grand slam. The bats still prevailed with 12 hits and four BB seeing Dominic Brown go deep and knock in three while scoring twice after a 2-4 night at the plate. Left hander Cliff Lee will be on the mound for his second start since coming off the disabled list. Lee struggled in his first outing with six runs plated on 12 hits over 5.2 innings of a 7-4 loss to San Francisco.
Collmenter is one of the Diamonbacks best while Lee is one of Philadelphia's best if healthy. This might be a stretch but I'll back Lee in his second start off the DL but I don't think I'd lay chalk with him in this spot...
