The Los Angeles Dodgers look to stay hot in game two of their series with the visiting Chicago Cubs.
The Cubs are playing for the future once again which probably sounds like a broken record to their fans which have heard this for awhile. The Cubs are playing spoiler right now and played the role to perfection in a series opening 8-2 road win over the Dodgers on Friday. Rookie Kyle Hendricks picked up his first career win with both runs plated over seven innings of work. The Cubbies attack produced 13 hits and a trio of BB with Luis Valbuena going deep and driving in two while Anthony Rizzo and Ryan Sweeney each scored twice. The Cubs send Tsuyoshi Wada to the mound for his 4th career start when he faces the Dodgers on Saturday. Wada is coming off a 4-1 decision versus Colorado where he gave up the lone run over seven frames.

The Dodgers are beginning to heat up much the same as they did in 2013 and that is bad news for any team they cross paths with. Los Angeles is getting better the average performances on the mound and at the plate although their hot streak ended with Friday's one sided defeat. Dan Haren never got past the 5th with seven runs allowed (six earned) on eight hits and a pair of free passes through 4.1 frames. The LAD offense didn't help out with just four hits under their belt with Hanley Ramirez recording RBI number 53. Los Angeles is scheduled to send Hyun-Jin Ryu to the bump on Saturday against the visiting Cubs. Ryu is one of the top reasons the Dodgers are in first with his 12-5 record and 3.44 ERA in 20 starts.
We have not seen enough of Wada to draw any conclusions so I look at Ryu who enjoyed an extra day of rest. Right or wrong I will back the Dodgers with Ryu...
