The Los Angeles Angels and Los Angeles Dodgers end their city series on Thursday night.
The Dodgers have been a bit unsteady over the past week or so which has squandered a few opportunities to pick up ground in the National League West against San Francisco. In this stretch the scoring has been down and the pitching hasn't been able to carry the load. The offense didn't do much Wednesday but didn't need much with Dan Haren allowing the lone run over seven frames on just three hit. Matt Kemp clubbed a solo homer and Andre Ethier knocked in the other in a two run 2nd. Hyun-Jin Ryu gets the ball in the final game of the series with the rival Angels. Ryu has proven to be another dependable arm atop the rotation with eight quality starts in his last ten outings.

If the Athletics win the American League West they will have earned it because the Angels have simply played well up to this point with enough balance between the pitching and hitting to make them a very dangerous squad. Starter Matt Shoemaker was a tough luck loser Wednesday with both runs plated on six hits through six innings but the normally potent attack of the Angels couldn't get any traction against Dan Haren. Five harmless singles was all the bats could generate with Chris Iannetta connecting on a sac fly in the 8th for their only run. Left hander CJ Wilson comes hopes to rebound from his latest struggles when he takes the hill against the Dodgers. In his last five outings Wilson has allowed 25 runs on 37 hits including six homers in 18 innings.
Wilson has really been struggling to the point where I need to seem him turn things around before I consider betting him...
