The Los Angeles Angels look to get back to their winning ways when they battle the Boston Red Sox on Saturday night.
The Red Sox are looking to regroup after trading away several veterans after the season was lost. There are several new faces in the rotation so I'm sure the team is figuring out what the lineup will look like next season. Boston threw a Monkey Wrench in to the postseason drive of the Angels with a 4-2 decision on Friday with a few clutch hits and a solic performance on the bump from Allen Webster. Webster allowed a pair of runs over 6.2 frames to get the win while Mike Napoli went deep and Yoenis Cespedes doubled in two more. The Red Sox are scheduled to send Clay Buchholz to the bump to face the Angels for the first tie in 2014. Buccholz has struggled the past three times out with an 0-3 record and an ERA north of ten.

I'm sure the Angels are still a bit annoyed after dropping three in a row to the Dodgers this week which probably hurt their pride and more important cost them in the American League West standings. The Angels woes continued with their 4th straight defeat which cost them another game in the standings with the Athletics winning. Jered Weaver wasn't in top form with all four runs plated on seven hits and a pair of free passes through six innings of work. The offense never got going on just six hits and a trio of walks with Mike Trout recording an RBI. Garrett Richards toes the rubber versus the visiting Red Sox for the first time in his career. Richards was at his very best last time out with a complete game 5-0 victory over the Dodgers where he struck out nine.
I think the Angels dream of capturing the AL West rests on what they do in the coming weeks because right now I smell trouble and that means I don't have a ton of faith in them...
