The Baltimore Orioles and the New York Yankees face off on Tuesday for game two of their series at Camden Yards.
The Baltimore Orioles fell behind early on Monday but that battled back and crushed the Yankees. Chris Davis, Nelson Cruz, and Jonathan Schoop each hit home runs as the Orioles scored 11 runs on 14 hits. Starting pitcher Bud Norris allowed five hits and three runs while striking out five over 5.0 innings to get the win and raise his record to 10-7. For Tuesday’s game the Orioles start Wei-Yen Chen who is coming off of a los that ended a personal five game winning streak. For the season Chen has allowed 141 hits and 56 earned runs while striking out 96 over 129.1 innings for a 12-4 record and a 3.90 ERA.

The New York Yankees were unable to hold onto the lead on Monday as they fell to the orioles in Baltimore. Brett Gardener, Derek Jeter, and Carlos Beltran each had hits as the Yankees scored three runs on five hits. Starting pitcher Chris Capuano allowed six hits and four runs while striking out seven over 6.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 1-3 for the season. For Tuesday’s game the Yankees start Shane Green who is coming off of a win in his last start. For the season Greene has allowed 32 hits and 12 earned runs while striking out 29 over 37.1 innings for a 301 record and a 2.89 ERA.
Baltimore is 7-2 in their last nine games, 14-5 in their last 19 home games, and 5-1 in Chen’s last six starts. New York is 7-4 against a team with a winning record, 4-11 against the AL East, and 1-6 against a left-handed starter. New York is 1-5 in their last six games against Baltimore.
The Orioles are just proving they are the better team and the prove it once again here getting the win.
