The Houston Astros head to Fenway Park to battle the Boston Red Sox on Thursday night.
The Astros seem to be better then I've seen in recent memory but their record might say something different because they obviously do their share of losing. Houston added another one to the loss column in Wednesday's 3-1 defeat to visiting Minnesota. Brett Oberholtzer gave up a single run over seven frames on a solo homer with Josh Fields allowing two more in 1/3 of an inning. The bats never got going on six hits with Chris Carter rapping a run scoring single. Houston opens the series with Scott Feldman on the bump who faces the Red Sox for the second time in 2014. Feldman has been throwing well the last three times out with a 2-0 record with a 2.01 ERA.

Boston is done competing in the American League East with poor play dooming them so many teams might be looking past them. Overlooking Boston the past week or so hasn't been a good thing for opponents with the Red Sox winning five of seven after a 5-4 victory at Cincinnati on Wednesday afternoon. Anthony Ranaudo improved to 2-0 with all four runs scored on eight hits including a pair of homers through six innings. The offense totaled eight hits with Mike Napoli swinging the big bat with a three run homer. The Red Sox send Allen Webster to the hill for his 4th start of the season. Webster might be fighting for a roster spot and would like to duplicate his last outing when he defeated the Angels 4-2.
I think Boston probably wins but I don't think I'd pay to see it so I'd rather take a chance on the plus money or nothing...
