The Baltimore Orioles are threatening to pull away in the American League Eastbehind solid pitching and hitting. I've said this several times but the Chicago Cubs have been playing well since the trade deadline and are a dangerous squad versus contenders. The Orioles found that out Saturday as a former hurler did them in. Jake Arrieta has been solid all season and was at his best once again with a solo homer allowed through seven innings to improve to 7-4. The Cubs offense mustered nine hits with Javier Baez and Luis Valbuena smacking long balls. Rookie Kyle Hendricks makes his 8th start of the season when he faces the big bats of the Baltimore Orioles. Hendricks has been outstanding thus far with a 6-1 record and 1.48 ERA in 48.2 frames.
I am very tempted to just go with the better team and call it a day but Hendricks has been as good as it gets. I'm not really interested in going against Baltimore but the Cubs have a chance...
