The San Francisco Giants are on a little run to put some pressure on the Dodgers in the National League West. The Washington Nationals have begun to flex some muscle in taking control of the National League East with nine consecutive wins before dropping the series opener to the Giants. The offense and pitching have been red hot for weeks and both were strong once again to even the series with San Francisco. Jordan Zimmermann was outstanding with a two run homer given up in the first before lasting eight innings. The offense did their damage on six hits and four free passes with Asdrubel Cabrera going deep and scoring twice while Jason Werth rapped a pair of run scoring singles. Stephen Strasburg opposes the visiting San Francisco Giants in Sunday's series finale'. Strasburg has ben at his best in four of his last five outings where he has allowed a total of two runs.
