The Milwaukee Brewers conclude their series at AT&T Park against the San Francisco Giants.
The Milwaukee Brewers have been struggling to score runs and the work on the mound hasn't been especially strong with defeats in six of eight heading in to Saturday's bout at San Francisco. Make that seven of nine after a 3-1 loss at AT&T Park Saturday with Mike Fiers falling to 4-2 with all three runs plated on seven hits over seven frames over seven innings while striking out nine. The bats posted four hits and received an RBI single from Ryan Braun. The Brewers send Kyle Lohshe to the mound in the series finale' versus the San Francisco Giants. Lohse has been a steady producer for Milwaukee with a 12-7 record and 3.42 ERA in 26 starts.

The San Francisco Giants are surging and the question is whether the winning continues long enough to take back the lead in the National League West. San Francisco did it again Saturday with their ninth win in eleven contests. Veteran Jake Peavy was as good as ever with a one hit shutout through 7.2 frames while recording eight K's. The Giants managed ten hits and walked twice with Michael Morse knocking in two while Brandon Crawford drove in another. Left hander Madison Bumgarner gets he call to the mound to face the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday. Bumgarner is coming in off his best start of 2014 where he defeated Colorado 3-0 with a complete game one hitter.
Lohse is an extremely tough customer while Bumgarner comes off a complete game one hitter which is something I tend to fade the next time out. I'm going with a red hot team that can pick up more ground in the standings with another win...
