The Atlanta Braves look to even their series with the visiting Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday.
The Philadelphia Phillies are still hopeful of passing the Mets and Marlins for third in the National League East and took a step towards that goal with a 7-0 decision at Atlanta Monday. The day belonged to Cole Hamels and three relievers who combined for a no hitter with Hamels issuing five BB over six innings. The Phils posted seven hits and seven walks with Ben Revere leading the way with a pair of hits and five RBI's. Philadelphia hands the ball to Kyle Kendrick for his 4th start against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday. Kendrick has been struggling the past four times out with 18 runs plated over 22.1 innings.

The Atlanta Braves are probably still thinking National League East title but time will be running out soon unless they suddenly go wild in the closing weeks and Washington slumps. Monday's loss to the Phillies was a step in the wrong direction with the work on the mound and at the plate getting nothing done. Starter Julio Teheran threw the ball well enough to win with three of the five allowed being unearned through 6.2 frames. Of course it didn't matter with the offense no hit with Jason Heyward and Freddie Freeman walking twice each. Left hander Mike Minor will be on the hill versus the rival Philadelphia Phillies. Minor has been on a tear as of late with a 2-0 mark in his last three outings with a 1.66 ERA covering 21.2 frames.
Don't be surprised by whatever happens between these teams is the first thing I'll say. The thing I'm looking at is Minor is hot and Kendrick is struggling but it's hard to lay big chalk with a team that is average at best...
