The Baltimore Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays finish off their weekend series at Tropicana Field on Sunday.
The Baltimore Orioles are one of the hottest teams in baseball and are looking to put an end to the AL East race as soon as possible and prepare for the postseason. That goal was put on hold with a 3-2 defeat at Tropicana Field Saturday. Kevin Gausman gave up two runs on seven hits and four BB with the loss going to Brad Brach who gave a 9th inning run. The offense saw Chris Davis slugging his 26th homer with Nelson Cruz rapping an RBI single. Bud Norris will be on the hill in the final game of the series against the Tampa Bay Rays Sunday. Norris is hoping to duplicate his effort in a 5-4 win over Cincinnati where he tossed a four hit shutout over six frames.

The Tampa Bay Rays have played the Orioles tough in the first two games of the series and obviously and have not given up on the season although they won't be in the playoffs. Starter Drew Smyly gave the Rays a lift on the mound with a single run plated through six innings for a no decision while Jake McGee blew the save with a run scored in the 8th. Tampa Bay did their damage on five hits and five bases on balls with Evan Longoria and Wil Myers driving in runs. Tampa Bay gives the ball to right hander Jeremy Hellickson who opposes the Baltimore Orioles for the second time. Hellickson has struggled the last two times out with eight runs plated in 7.2 innings.
I don't see an earth shattering difference in the pitching department so I look at which team has th best chance to score and that's the Orioles...
