The Cleveland Indians look to get back to winning with an early win versus the Minnesota Twins on Thursday afternoon.
The Minnesota Twins season has come down to being a spoiler with the schedule presenting plenty of opportunities against playoff hopefuls. The Twins were perfect spoilers Tuesday with a 4-3 victory with a four run 4th carrying the day. Trevor May gave up both runs over five frames to pick up his second win while four relievers made the lead stand up. The offense posted five hits and walked twice with Oswaldo Arcia cracking a two run bomb. Minnesota looks to Kyle Gibson to secure back to back wins over the Cleveland Indians. Gibson has struggled as of late with an 0-1 record with a 5.40 ERA covering 16.2 innings over three starts.

The Cleveland Indians need to string wins together and avoid losing streaks with so many teams in the running for a Wild Card. After Tuesday's defeat the Tribe have dropped back to back games with starter Trevor Bauer suffering one bad inning in the 4th before finishing an eight inning stint that was great otherwise. The Indians had several chances with a nine hit, four walk attack but settled for a two RBI night from Yan Gomes with Lonnie Chisenhall driving in one. The Indians are scheduled to start Corey Kluber who has faced the Minnesota Twins once on the season. Kluber is 14-9 overall with a 2.47 ERA covering 30 outings where the Indians are 18-12.
Cleveland can't afford to lose too many games or the Wild Card will slip away. Gibson does come up big on occasion and I'm hoping this isn't one of those times...
