The Detroit Tigers and the Cleveland Indians faceoff on Saturday in Detroit for game two of their series.

The Cleveland Indians scored first on Friday against the Tigers but it wasn’t enough to hold up as they lost in Detroit. Michael Brantley, Ryan Raburn, and Lonnie Chisenhall each had two hits as the Indians scored two runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco allowed seven hits and four runs while striking out five over 6.1 innings to take the loss and fall to 7-5 for the season. For Saturday’s game the Indians start Danny Salazar who is coming off of a loss in his last start. For the season Salazar has allowed 98 hits and 43 earned runs while striking out 96 over 92.1 innings for a 6-7 record and a 4.19 ERA.

Detroit is 6-0 in their last six home games against a team with a losing road record, 6-2 against the AL Central, and 11-4 against a right-handed starter. Cleveland is 4-0 on the road against a left-handed starter, 5-3 in their last eight games, and 5-2 in Salazar’s last seven starts in game two of a series. Cleveland is 1-5 in their last six meetings with Detroit.

Detroit just looked like the better team on Friday and I have to believe they are better here as well.
