The Houston Astros look to slow down the surging Los Angeles Angels on Saturday night.
The Houston Astros are as hot as they have been in 2014 which is making the playoff contenders on their schedule squirm. The Angels squirmed early before coming to life in an 11-3 decision in the series opener. Starter Brett Oberholtzer gave up six runs in 4.1 frames to get the loss with Jorge De Leon and Samuel Deduno allowing two runs each. The Astros totaled nine hits and four BB with Jake Marisnick, Dexter Fowler and Robbie Grossman posting RBI's. The Astros send Scott Feldman to the bump for his 4th meeting with the Los Angeles Angels. On the season Feldman has gone 8-10 with an ERA just south of four covering 26 starts with Houston going 10-16.

The Los Angeles Angeles are refusing to lose which means nobody is making up ground on them in the American League West. Nobody picked up any ground Friday as the bats and arms carried the day. Starter CJ Wilson has struggled with Houston but did enough to get the win on Friday with three runs plated (two earned) on seven hits and a trio of bases on balls which was overkill with the offense exploding. The Angels attack produced 12 hits and walked twice with David Freese cracking a two run homer while Kole Calhoun, Mike Trout and Howie Kendrick driving in two runs each. Jered Weaver gets the call to the mound Saturday when he opposes the Houston Astros. Weaver has been red hot over his last three times out where he is 2- 1 with a 2.87 ERA over 19 innings.
Feldman has shown to be very dangerous but Weaver is one of the best on the best team in the game with a dangerous offense behind him...
