The New York Yankees more than likely won’t be playing in the post season but they are going down swinging as they showed once again on Saturday beating the Orioles. Brian McCann hit a home run and martin Prado and Chris Young each had hits as the Yankees scored three runs on four hit. Starting pitcher Shane Greene allowed seven hits and two runs while striking out nine over 5.1 innings to get the win and go to 5-3 for the season and David Robertson earned his 36th save. For Sunday’s game the Yankees start Hiroki Kuroda who had a loss in his last start. For the season Kuroda has allowed 175 hits and 77 earned runs while striking out 125 over 177.1 innings for a 10-9 record and a 3.91 ERA.
Baltimore is 6-2 against the AL East, 46-22 in their last 68 games, and 20-8 in Tillman’s last 28 starts. New York is 9-3 as an underdog, 3-5 against a team with a winning record, and 5-14 in Kuroda’s last 19 road starts. New York is 2-5 in the last seven meetings of these two.
The Orioles are just the better team and with Tillman they are just too tough here.
