The San Francisco Giants look for a strong finish to their series with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.
The Los Angeles Dodgers need to leave San Francisco on a positive note for a confidence boost with the end of the season just several weeks away. They should have ample confidence after Saturday's 17-0 rout of the Giants that was never in doubt. Zack Grenke won it with six scoreless innings with the offense hammering out 24 hits including a homer and two RBI's from Greinke. Carl Crawford and Matt Kemp drove in three each while Scott Van Slyke, Hanley Ramirez and Juan Uribe knocked in two runs each. Ace Clayton Kershaw heads to the mound against the San Francisco Giants for the third time in 2014. Kershaw owns an 18-3 record with a 1.67 ERA covering 24 starts where the Dodgers are 20-4.

The San Francisco Giants have gotten their pitching and hitting on the same page and the result has been plenty of winning and the National League West lead within their grasp. The Giants suffered through one of thos games where nothing went right with Tim Hudson, Tim Lincecum and Michael Kickham allowing 15 runs through 5.2 innings. Obviously nothing the offense did was going to matter and their five hits falls under the title of 'not enough'. San Francisco hands the ball to Yusmeiro Petit for Sunday's bout with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Petit has either been good or bad and it was the latter in a complete game 5-1 victory over the Diamondbacks.
Of course Kershaw is a big favorite even on the road versus the dangerous Giants. I don't know how each team responds after Saturday so I'll back the best pitcher in the game...
