The Toronto Blue Jays took the loss on Tuesday and it was just one in what was a late season collapse. Jose Reyes, Edwin Encarnacion, and Dioner Navarro each had hits as the Blue Jays scored two runs on four hits. Starting pitcher Drew Hutchison allowed five hits and six runs while striking out 11 over 6.1 innings to take the loss and fall to 10-12 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Blue Jays start J.A. Happ who has lost five of his last six decisions. For the season Happ has allowed 141 hits and 66 earned runs while striking out 119 over 138.2 innings for a 9-10 record and a 4.28 ERA.
Baltimore is 4-1 in game three of a series, 37-16 in their last 53 home games, and 4-0 in Norris’ last four home starts. Toronto is 2-6 against the AL East, 5-1 in game three of a series, and 1-7 in Happ’s last eight road starts. Toronto is 3-8 in their last 11 meetings with Baltimore.
The Orioles seem to have the edge here and it is just a matter of if they have the hangover from Tuesday’s big night but regardless the O’s are my play here.
