The AL West champion Los Angeles Angels host the suddenly hot Texas Rangers on Friday.
The exas Rangers have turned things up the past week or so with both the pitching and hitting contributing to the success. The Rangers have won six in a row after completing a three game sweep of Oakland in a 7-2 decision on Thursday. A 4-0 first inning kick started Texas with Nicholas Martinez allowing both runs on three hits and three BB over 5.2 frames to improve to 4-11. The Rangers pounded out 15 hits with Tomas Telis knocking in two with Adrian Beltre scoring twice. Rookie Lisalverto Bonilla makes his second career start versus the Los Angeles Angels on Friday. Bonilla won his debut by a 3-2 count versus Atlanta with both runs plated on four hits over six frames.

The Los Angeles Angels wrapped up the American League West with their 5-0 victory versus the Mariners on Wednesday and were supposed to rest some players Thursday but it certainly didn't look like it. The Angels offense did stall in a 3-1 loss too Seattle but the pitching was superb until the 9th. Starter Wade LeBlanc was Cy Young for a night with 5.1 scorless inningswith the loss going to Kevin Jepsen who served up a three run homer in the 9th. The offense didn't get anything going until the 9th when Hang Conger slugged his 4th long ball with Los Angeles getting the tying runner to the plate but failing to break through. I am seeing the Angels listing possible starters being Hector Santiago and Jered Weaver.
These are tough games to cap and bet because lineups are thrown together and pitching assignments aren't etched in stone. I'll pick the Rangers but I have no clue who the Angels are playing or resting...
