The Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets face off on Saturday in Atlanta for game two of their series.
The Atlanta Braves dreadfully disappointing season continued on Friday as they lost to the Mets. Andrelton Simmons had three hits and Justin Upton and B.J. upton each had hits as the Braves didn’t score on five hits. Starting pitcher Julio Teheranb allowed seven hits and two runs while striking out six over 7.0 innings to take the loss. For Saturday’s game the Braves start Mike Minor who is 6-11 with a 4.74 Era and 0-3 with a 5.00 ERA in his last three starts.

The New York Mets didn’t have a great year but they have a lot to build off going forward as we saw again on Friday as they got the win behind a strong performance by their young pitching staff. Lucas Duda hit a home run, Daniel Murphy had four hits, and Wilmer Flores had a hit as the Mets scored five runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Zack Wheeler allowed five hits and struck out seven over 6.0 scoreless innings to get the win. For Saturday’s game the Mets start Jon Niese who is 8-11 with a 3.55 ERA this season and 1-1 with a 4.12 ERA in his last three starts.
Atlanta is 1-5 as a favorite, 1-6 in their last seven games, and 1-4 in Minor’s last five starts as a favorite. New York is 5-1 in their last sixe road games, 2-4 in their last six games, and 1-4 in Niese’s last five starts as a road underdog. New York is 2-4 in their last six games in Atlanta.
The Braves have just tanked and the are unplayable as a favorite in this spot so the Mets are my play.
