The Detroit Tigers and the Chicago White Sox face off on Wednesday for their final meeting of the season.
The Detroit Tigers appeared to have let a win get away from them on Tuesday but they rallied and got the win. Miguel Cabrera and Ian Kinsler had two hits each and Torii Hunter had a hit as the Tigers scored four runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher David Price allowed eight hits and three runs while striking gout eight over 8.2 innings to not get a decision as Joe Nathan got the win. For Wednesday’s game the Tigers start Justin Verlander who is 14-12 with a 4.68 ERA this season ad 2-0 with a 3.60 ERA in his last three starts.

The Chicago White Sox beat the Tigers on Monday and while they put a scare into them on Tuesday they were unable to close the deal and get the win. Adam Eatonand Alexei Ramirez each had two hits and Avisail Garcia had a hit and drove in two runs as the White Sox scored three runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Scot Carroll allowed five hits and two runs while striking out four over 6.0 innings to not get a decision as Jacob Petricka took the loss. For Wednesday’s game the White Sox start Chris Sale who is 12-4 with a 2.20 ERA for the season and 1-1 with a 2.84 ERA in his last three starts.
Detroit is 6-2 in their last eight home games, 3-8 against a left-handed starter, and 5-1 in Verlander’s last six starts. Chicago is 5-12 in their last 17 road games, 2-7 in game three of a series, and 1-4 in Sale’s last five starts as an underdog. Chicago is 11-28 in their last 39 games in Detroit.
This series has been tight and look for Sale to put on a show here and lead the White Sox to the win.
