The Baltimore Orioles and Detroit Tigers meet in game number two of their ALDS at Camden Yards.
The Detroit Tigers offense and relief pitching failed them in a 12-3 defeat at Camden Yards to fall to 0-1 in the ALDS. Max Scherzer absorbed the loss with five runs plated on seven hits including a pair of homers over seven frames with Joakin Soria giving up four runs in 1/3 of an inning to put this one out of reach. The Tigers mustered eight hits but that was not enough with Miguel Cabrera, Victor Martinez and JD Martinez cracking solo homers. Detroit gives the ALDS game two start to Justin Verlander who faces the Baltimore Orioles for the third time. Verlander turned it on over the last three starts of the season with a 2-0 record with a 2.14 ERA.

The Baltimore Orioles rode an eight run 8th inning to break open a close game in a 12-3 victory in the ALDS opener. Chris Tillman picked up the victory with a pair of runs allowed on solo homers through five innings pitched. Nelson Paced the Orioles 12 hit attack with a two run jack and three RBI's with JJ Hardy going solo. Alejandro De Aza drove in two more while Nick Markakis, Steve Pearce and Cruz each scored twice. Left hander Wei-Yin Chen opposes the Detroit Tigers for the first time since 2012. Chen has been one of the best options in the rotation with a 16-6 record and 3.54 ERA in 21 outings.
The Orioles have often fed off big innings at the plate which makes them a threat regardless of the score. Hopefully we see a repeat of game one with the home dog barking once again...
