The World Series heads to AT&T Park for the game three battle between the Kansas City Royals and San Francisco Giants.
The San Francisco Giants have generally been the team that has come up with the big hits or the big outs but had the tables turned on them in a 7-2 loss at Kauffman Stadium Wednesday that evened the World Series at a game apiece. Starter Jake Peavy absorbed the defeat with four runs plated on six hits and a pair of BB in five frames. Jean Machi allowed a run and Hunter Strickland two with neither recording an out in a five run 6th inning. The dangerous San Francisco offense never recovered with nine hits and a pair of walks to lean on. Gregor Blanco homered and Brandon Belt doubled in Pablo Sandoval in what was a quiet night at the plate. Veteran Tim Hudson gets the call to the mound to face the Kansas City Royals in game three of the World Series Thursday. Hudson struggled in his appearance verusus St Louis in the NLCS where he gave up four runs on seven hits in 6.1 innings of a 5-4 win.

The Kansas City Royals had that 'deer in the headlights' look in game one of the World Series with not much positive happening at the plate or the mound in a 7-1 defeat to drop their first game of the 2014 postseason. What a difference a day makes with the Royals five run 6th inning giving San Francisco a taste of their own medicine in game two. Rookie hurler Yordano Ventura survived 5.1 innings with eight hits and a pair of runs allowed with three relievers giving up a hit and a pair of free passes the rest of the way. The bats took care of business on ten hits and a pair of base on balls with Omar Infante leading the way with a homer and two RBI's with two runs. Salvador Perez doubled in two and scored while Billy Butler Knocked in two more with Lorenzo Cain scoring twice. Jeremy Guthrie gets the game three start versus the San Francisco Giants on Thursday. Guthrie has faced Baltimore in the ALCS where he allowed a run on on three hits and a pair of free passes over five frames of a 2-1 victory.
