The Milwaukee Brewers hope to break in to the win column against the Colorado Rockies Wednesday.
The Colorado Rockies are looking to continue their good start to the season with another great performance on the mound and at the plate in a 5-2 victory at Milwaukee to improve to 2-0. Starter Jordan Lyles was outstanding with both runs allowed on five hits and a walk through six frames while three relievers threw a scoreless inning each. The bats had another productive night with 12 hits and a pair of free passes with four players recording RBI’s and five scoring. Nick Hundley had three hits with Troy Tulowitzki and DJ LeMathieu recorded a pair of hits. Colorado looks to Eddie Butler on the bump to pitch the team to their third straight win at Miller Park. Butler has just three career starts to his credit with a 1-1 record and 6.75 ERA.

The Milwaukee Brewers expected to crank up the offense against visiting Colorado to kick off the new season but it has been the Rockies that have been doing most of the hitting and pitching. The Brewers struggled once again in most areas in Tuesday’s 5-2 defeat to fall to 0-2 as starter Matt Garza didn’t get past five innings. Garza gave up four runs on eight hits and a free pass to absorb the loss with Tyler Thornburg giving up a run on four hits over two frames. The Brewers mustered six hits and walked once with Carlos Gomez doubling in a run. Jean Segura and Gerardo Parra each scored but the bats failed to string anything together.Milwaukee turns to Wily Peralta on the mound Wednesday to get the Brew Crew win number one. In 32 starts in 2014 Peralta went 17-11 with a 3.53 ERA over 199 frames.
Colorado are 10-43 in their last 53 road games. For Milwaukee the under is 14-4 in their last 18 and 14-4 in the last 18 on grass while the Brewers are 2-6 in their last 8 Wednesday games. Head to head the over is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings at Miller Park while Colorado is 3-6 in the last 9 meetings. I’m not sure what to make of either team right now and Butler is a mystery so tread lightly…
