The Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers play Wednesday afternoon at Comerica Park.

The Minnesota Twins had to deal with David Price in their season opener, which is why they lost 4-0 and produced only five hits. The Twins didn’t have a single extra-base hit in the loss, and Torii Hunter and Oswaldo Arcia struck out twice in the loss. Of course, starting pitcher Phil Hughes didn’t help the situation by giving up four earned runs in six innings. This was expected to be another down year for the Minnesota Twins, and Monday’s Opening Day did nothing to change those feelings. Ricky Nolasco gets the ball, and he was 6-12 with a 5.38 ERA and 115 strikeouts last season. Nolasco is 1-0 with a 2.33 ERA and 16 strikeouts in his career against the Tigers.

Tigers vs. Twins - 4/8/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Tigers not only received an impressive pitching debut, but Alex Avila and J.D. Martinez each homered, giving the Tigers a balanced performance. The Tigers pounded out 10 hits in 31 at bats, as Yoenis Cespedes was one of four players with two hits. Miguel Cabrera was 0-4 in the victory, but six other Detroit players got on base at least once. The Detroit Tigers were a popular pick in the American League, and their season opener showed people why they have World Series dreams. Anibal Sanchez takes the hill, and he was 8-5 with a 3.43 ERA and 102 strikeouts last season. Sanchez is 2-2 with a 2.60 ERA and 50 strikeouts in his career against the Twins.

The Twins are 3-7 in their last 10 road games and 2-8 in Nolasco's last 10 starts. The Tigers are 5-2 in their last 7 games following an off day and 8-3 in Sanchez's last 11 starts. The Twins are 2-5 in the last 7 meetings in Detroit.

I expect pretty much the same you saw on Monday, espeically with Nolasco on the mound. This is just another mismatch that favors the Tigers in a big way. Take Detroit and the spread to give you more bang for your buck.
