The Los Angeles Angels and the Kansas City Royals face off on Saturday in Anaheim in game two of their series.
The Los Angeles Angels are looking for revenge for last season’s post-season loss to the Royals but they didn’t get any on Friday as they lost to the Royals. David Freese had two hits including a home run, Mike Trout had two hits, and Kole Calhoun had a hit as the Angels scored two runs on seven hits. Starting pitcher Hector Santiago allowed six hits and three runs while striking out four over 5.1 innings to take the loss. For Sunday’s game the Angels start Jered Weaver who allows eight hits and four runs over six innings taking the loss at Seattle.

The Kansas City Royals continued their hot play to start the season winning on Friday against the Angels. Kendrys Morales had two hits including a home run, Lorenzo Cain had two hits, and Eric Hosmer had a hit as the Royals scored four runs on nine hits. Starting pitcher Jason Vargas allowed five hits and two runs while striking out three over 6.0 innings to get the win and Wade Davis earned the save. For Saturday’s game Kansas City start Jeremy Guthrie who was 13-11 with a 4.13 ERA last season striking out 124 over 202.2 innings.
Los Angeles is 12-5 in game two of a series, 41-20 in their last 61 home games, 2-8 in their last 10 games, and 15-6 in Weaver’s last 21 starts. Kansas City is 5-0 in game two of a series, 7-2 in their last nine road games, and 6-1 in Guthrie’s last seven road starts. Kansas City has won their last five games against Los Angeles.
The Royals are just red hot and there is no way I can lay these type of odds against them.
