The Houston Astros look to even their series with the Oakland Athletics at Minute Maid Park Tuesday.
The Oakland Athletics have yet to get both their arms and bats going consistently but the season is still in it’s infancy. The Athletics finally had everything pointed in the right direction in Monday’s 8-1 win at Houston. Scott Kazmir gave up three hits including a solo homer over six innings while striking out eight to pick up the win. The offense rode a three run first and four run 4th behind a 12 hit attack that featured a three run jack from Billy Butler while Brett Lawrie and Marcus Semien connected on solo homers. Kendall Graveman makes the second start of his career when he takes the bump at Houston. Graveman was hammered in his major league debut with eight runs scored on seven hits over 3.1 innings of a 10-1 loss to Texas.

The Houston Astros have not enjoyed much success in recent years but they have shown some improvement in recent seasons. Monday wasn’t one of those days as the team fell behind early and never found a groove. Scott Feldman didn’t have his best stuff with eight runs allowed (seven earned) on ten hits including three long balls through five frames. The Astros managed five hits and walked four times with Jose Altuve swinging the hot bat with a 3-4 night including his first round tripper of 2015. The Astros give the ball to rookie Asher Wojciechowski hoping he can rebound from his struggles in his debut. Wojciechowski gave up four runs on eight hits over four frames of a 5-1 loss to Cleveland.
The under is 7-2-1 in Oakland’s last 10 road games while the A’s are 7-17 in their last 24 road games. The under is 8-3 in the Astros last 11 home games while Houston are 4-10 in their last 14 games as an underdog with the under going 35-15-1 in the Astros last 51 overall. Head to head the over is 17-5 in the last 22 meetings in Houston while Oakland are 15-6 in the last 21 meetings in Houston. Both rookies struggled in their debuts but I think Wojciechowski is the better option but he faces the better team…
