The Chicago Cubs also have a few new faces and have quietly been winning some games which in previous seasons didn’t happen consistently. The Cubs have won four of five after a complete effort in a 5-0 victory over Cincinnati at Wrigley Field on Wednesday. Starter Travis Wood was staked to an early 4-0 lead and took full advantage as he struck out seven and allowed three hits and a issued a pair of free passes through seven innings. The Cubbies pounded out eleven hits and walked four times with Anthony Rizzo clubbing a two run homer. Dexter Fowler went 2-3 with a pair of runs with Starlin Castro recording a double and single and scoring.Jason Hammel shoots for another solid outing when the Padres pay a visit on Friday. Hammel was at the top of his game in a 9-5 win at Colorado with three runs given up on eight hits and zero walks over six innings pitched.

The under is 8-1 in San Diego’s last 9 Friday games with the Padres going 18-39 in their last 57 road games. The under is 7-3 in Chicago’s last 10 overall and 7-3 in their last 10 on grass while the over is 14-5-2 in the Cubs last 24 Friday games.
