The Toronto Blue Jays and the Atlanta Braves face off on Saturday at the Rogers Centre in game two of their interleague MLB series.

The Toronto Blue Jays battled for the full nine innings on Friday but they still came up short and fell below .500 losing to the Braves. Josh Donaldson and Russell Martin each hit two home runs and Devon Travis hit a home run as the Blue Jays scored seven runs on 11 hits. Starting pitcher Drew Hutchison had a rough day allowing seven hits and five runs, four earned, while striking out six over 4.2 innings and not factoring in the decision as Brett Cecil took the loss. For Saturday’s game the Blue Jays look to bounce back with R.A. Dickey who has allowed seven hits and three runs while striking out eight over 12.1 innings for a 0-1 record and 2.19 ERA.

Blue Jays vs. Braves - 4/18/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Atlanta Braves weathered the storm of Toronto offense on Friday to get the win in game one of the series. Nick Markakis had four hits and Freddie Freeman and Jonny Gomes each hit home runs as the Braves scored eight runs on 12 hits. Starting pitcher Julio Teheran was tagged allowing seven hits and five runs while striking out four over 5.0 innings to not get a decision as Cody Martin got the win and Jason Grilli earned his fifth save of the year. For Saturday’s game the Braves start Alex Wood who has allowed 12 hits and five runs while striking out 11 over 11.2 innings for a 1-0 record and 3.86 ERA.

Toronto is 4-1 against the NL East, 2-5 in game two of a series, 1-5 in their last six home games, and 2-6 in Dickey’s last eight starts as a favorite. Atlanta is 6-0 in their last six road games, 9-3 in their last 12 games, 1-4 against the AL East, and 1-4 in Wood’s last five starts as an underdog. Atlanta is 11-3 in their last 14 games against Toronto.

I don’t like the price on Toronto but I do think they are the play here so while I might stay away from this one my play is the Blue Jays.
