The Cincinnati Reds take the field with the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park on Tuesday night.

Then Cincinnati Reds have high hopes of  rebounding from a poor season a year ago but things haven’t been going their way lately. The Reds had dropped four in a row before getting great hitting and pitching in Monday’s 6-1 victory at Miller Park. Anthony DeSclafani upped his record to 2-0 with a two hit shutout over eight frames while recording five K’s. Cincinnati posted nine hits and walked five times with Joey Votto going 2-4 with a homer and two RBI’s while Zack Cosart cracked a three run jack. Jason Marquis will be on the hill facing Milwaukee for the first time since 2013. Marquis struggled last time out in a 5-0 loss  at the Cubs where he gave up all five runs (four earned) on seven hits and three BB in four frames.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Cincinnati Reds - 4/21/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

For the Milwaukee Brewers it was a great start in 2014 and a bad finish and for this season it’s been a slow start so far. The Brew Crew have dropped six in a row following Mondays defeat which has a team with some decent talent reeling. Starter  Wily Peralta was hit hard with all six runs allowed on eight hits and three bases on balls through seven innings of work. The Milwaukee offense did not help the cause with only three hits and a free pass to their credit. Ryan Braun was the lone source of scoring when he clubbed his first long ball of the season in the 9th to break up the shutout. The Brew Crew turn to Mike Fiers on the mound in game number two versus visiting Cincinnati. Fiers dropped his first start of 2015 by a 4-0 count at St Louis with two runs scored on seven hits and a walk over 5.2 innings.

Cincinnati are 15-36 in their last 51 road games. The under is 9-2 in the Brewers last 11 Tuesday games while Milwaukee are 16-35 in their last 51 overall and are 16-35 in their last 51 games on grass while the under is 34-16-1 in the last 51 meetings. Not a very pretty match up in my view and one I’m not rushing to bet so I’m taking the home team with a pitcher that has had some success versus Milwaukee…
