The Detroit Tigers hope to stay hot in the final game of their series with the New York Yankees.
The New York Yankees haven’t been a factor in the American League East for several years which is an eternity for this franchise. If the Bronx Bombers get the balance between their offense and pitching we saw Tuesday this could be a good year. The Yankees knocked off Detroit 5-2 with starter Nathan Eovaldi holding a potent Tigers attack to a single run on eight hits over seven frames to pick up his first win. Chris Young and Stephen Drew each cracked their 4th homeruns with Brett Gardner going 2-4 with a pair of runs. Adam Warren gets the call to the mound to face the Detroit Tigers for the first time. Warren did not get a decision in a 5-4 win at Tampa Bay where he was charged with four runs on six hits in four innings pitched.

The Detroit Tigers are red hot out of the gates and despite the loss on Tuesday the team is an impressive 11-3. The bats had a rare off night and the bullpen struggled which squandered a strong performance from starter Kyle Lobstein. Lobstein gave up a single run on three hits and four free passes through six frames which was a losing effort with a trio of relievers allowing four runs. The offense hit the ball but didn’t do much scoring with ten hits and three bases on balls seeing Yoenis Cespedes and Rajai Davis driving in runs while JD Martinez scoring twice.Left hander David Price makes his 4th start of 2015 hoping to continue his hot start on the mound. In three outings Price is 1-0 with just four runs plated over 22.1 innings for a 0.40 ERA.
The Over is 10-2 in the Yankees last 12 overall and 7-2 in their last 9 on grass while New York are 2-6 in their last 8 games on grass. Detroit are 8-1 in their last 9 games as a favorite and are 11-2 in their last 13 overall while the Tigers are 11-2 in their last 13 games on grass. The under is 7-1 in the last 8 meetings while New York are 2-7 in the last 9 meetings in Detroit. Price is supposed to be the ace and has been lights out so far so he hopefully does it again…
