The Cincinnati Reds look to leave Miller Park with another victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Cincinnati Reds would like nothing better then to string some wins together and create some separation from the rest of the National League Central. That might be the cart before the horse right now but a win Wednesday is a good start. The Reds broke out the bats in a 16-10 win over Milwaukee with Jason Marquis allowing five runs over five frames while JJ Hoover giving up another four runs in 1/3 of an inning. This game was all about offense with the Reds hammering five long balls. Zack Cozart cracked two bombs with Joey Votto, Todd Frazier and Jay Bruce also going deep. Cincinnati turns to ace Johnny Cueto on the mound to secure the sweep of Milwaukee. Cueto comes off a rare off night with four runs allowed on six hits with ten strikeouts over seven frames in a 6-1 loss at St Louis.

Instead of dragging the Milwaukee Brewers through the mud I will simply say they are a struggling club that needs help with their pitching and hitting. Starter Mike Fiers allowed four runs in four frames with Tyler Thornburg charged with five runs followed by Neal Cotts with three more runs plated. The Brew Crew racked up 12 hitsand walked three times. Elian Herrera paced the offense with a two hits including five RBI’s and three runs scored. Martin Maldonado went deep and knocked in two with a pair of runs while Jean Segura and Logan Schafer scored twice. Jimmy Nelson toes the rubber against visiting Cincinnati in hopes of avoiding a sweep. Nelson is coming off of a 6-3 loss to Pittsburgh in which he allowed three runs (two earned) over five innings.
The Reds are 3-7 in their last 10 overall and 3-7 in their last 10 games on grass while Cincinnati are 16-35 in the last 51 road games. Milwaukee are 1-8 in their last 9 home games and 2-8 in their last 10 Wednesday games while going 7-19 in their last 26 games as an underdog. The price is right with Cueto on the hill who is one of the best in the business…
