The Chicago White Sox look to slow down the red hot Kansas City Royals in Thursday action.
The Kansas City Royals and Detroit Tigers are locked in an early season battle for supremacy in the American League Central. The Royals absorbed a rare loss with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of visiting Minnesota on Wednesday. The Twins have played KC surprisingly tough and starter Jeremy Guthrie’s control issues didn’t help with all three runs plated on six hits and six bases on balls through five frames to fall to 1-1. Although Guthrie wasn’t at his best the same could be said for the offense that totaled six hits and walked twice with Alcides Escobar going 2-4. Yordano Ventura faces the White Sox for the second time this season on Thursday. Ventura defeated the White Sox 10-1 in his first outing of 2015 with the lone run allowed on four hits in six frames.

The Chicago White Sox are trying to string the wins together and at least stay within shouting distance of red hot Kansas City and Detroit in the American League Central. The White Sox picked up a game on both following Wednesday’s 6-0 shutout of Cleveland. The pitching was superb with starter Jeff Samardzija tossing a six hit shutout over sic frames to even his record at 1-1. A 14 hit attack was more then enough support with Jose Abreu launching his 5th homer and driving in three while Adam Eaton scored twice. Ace left hander Chris Sale is charged with controlling the dangerous bats of Kansas City. Sale has been his normal stingy self in two starts with only three runs scored on nine hits and a pair of BB in two six inning stints.
Kansas City are 19-7 in their last 26 games as an underdog and 15-6 in their last 21 road games while the Royals are 7-3 in their last 10 Thursday games. The under is 9-3 in Chicago’s last 12 Thursday games and is 6-2 in their last eight overall while going 6-2 in the White Sox last 8 games on grass. The under is 10-3 in Sale’s last 13 starts versus the Royals while Kansas City are 21-2 in their last 28 meetings in Chicago. In my view Chris Sale is one of the best in the business and has a better then even chance of beating anybody although the juice is a bit high for me…
