The Cleveland Indians visit Comerica Park to open a series with the Detroit Tigers in a Friday tilt.

The Cleveland Indians have yet to hit their stride with neither the work on the mound or at the plate showing consistency. The Indians have dropped seven of ten following a 6-0 loss apt the Chicago White Sox. Ace Corey Kluber could not contain the White Sox offense with all six runs plated on 13 hits over six frames to fall to 0-2 on the season. The offense did have some baserunners on eight hits and four bases on balls but the big hit was obviously MIA. Michael Bourn and David Murphy logged a pair of hits each. Danny Salazar toes the rubber against the division rival Tigers on Friday night. Salazar began 2015 with a 4-2 victory at Minnesota where he gave up both runs on six hits with ten strikeouts in six innings.

Detroit Tigers vs. Cleveland Indians - 4/24/15 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Detroit Tigers were one of the hottest teams in the game out of the gate and didn’t like a losing streak was possible. However losing streaks are part of the game and the Tigers are suffering through their first after getting swept by the Yankees following a 2-1 defeat in the series finale’ Thursday. Starter Anibal Sanchez was solid with a run plated on a hit and four walks while striking out eight in 6.1 innings pitched with Tom Gorzelanny taking the loss  with a run allowed in the 8th to absorb the loss. The potent attack was held to three hits and a pair of free passes with Victor Martinez connecting on a sacrifice fly to score Anthony Gose. Shane Greene makes his 4th start of the season when he faces the Indians in the series opener. Greene has been outstanding with one earned run allowed in three outings covering  23 innings.

The under is 8-1 in Cleveland’s last 9 road games while the Indians are 2-8 in their last 10 games as an underdog and 3-8 in their last 11 overall. Detroit are 8-3 in their last 11 games as a favorite and 11-5 in their last 16 overall while going 11-5 in their last 16 games on grass. The over is 16-5 in the last 21 meetings with Cleveland going 14-39 in the last 53 meetings in Detroit. The Tigers have been lights out versus  Cleveland an hopefully it stays that way…
