The Chicago White Sox and the Cincinnati Reds square off in game one of their doubleheader Saturday.
The Cincinnati Reds are largely the same team they have been over the past several seasons which was once good enough to capture the National League Central. So the question is whether the Reds are still good enough and I can’t answer that without a doubt. What I do know is this team has been held back by injuries in prior seasons to some productive players and this seems to be happening once again in 2015 so saying they are injury prone is accurate in my view. I also see a team that doesn’t always play to their potential with the offense or pitching stalling and that needs to change although some of the blame has to be attributed to the injury bug because performing without all of your best players is not a recipe’ for success.

The Chicago White Sox used to be one of the teams to beat a few short years ago in the American League Central. However Detroit has been the top dog for awhile and now Kansas City is battling the Tigers for their second straight division crown. The White Sox certainly have talent but need to get the best from their pitching and hitting to win consistently where KC and Detroit have the bats to keep games competitive if their pitching struggles. The CWS are a few pieces away from becoming a factor in the division which has turned in to one of the toughest in the game. The bottom line is this isn’t an old team with many of their veterans of year’s past gone so I expect improvement as the current squad matures and gets better with experience.
There are no pitcher’s listed at this time as I see Cueto and Marquis as possibilities for Cincinnati with Noesi and Rodon as the starter’s for the White Sox. Who opposes who and which game is the question which will be decide overnight so please check back when the names and lines are decided…
