The San Francisco Giants and the Miami Marlins face off on Sunday at AT&T Park for game four of their MLB series.
The San Francisco Giants never got to the lead on Saturday as they lost to the visiting Marlins. Brandon Crawford and Angel Pagan each had two hits and Buster Posey had a hit as the Giants scored two runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner allowed five hits and three runs while striking out 10 over 5.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 3-2 for the season. For Sunday’s game the Giants start Ryan Vogelsong who has allowed 31 hits and 20 earned runs while striking out 21 over 26.1 innings for a 1-2 record and a 6.84 ERA.

The Miami Marlins continued their strong play as they beat the Giants on the road on Saturday. Martin Prado had two hits, Adeiny Hechavarria had two hits, and Michael Morse had a hit as the Marlins scored six runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher David Phelps allowed six hits and a run while striking out three over 6.0 innings to get the win and go to 2-0 for the season. For Saturday’s game the Marlins start Mat Latos who has allowed 30 hits and 17 earned runs while striking out 23 over 27.1 innings for a 1-3 record and a 5.60 ERA.
San Francisco is 13-5 in game four of a series, 9-3 in their last 12 home games, and 6-0 in Vogelsong’s last six starts in game four of a series. Miami is 8-3 as an underdog, 12-5 in their last 17 games, and 0-4 in game four of a series. Miami is 14-4 in their last 18 games in San Francisco.
Both of the pitchers in this one have had their issues this season but I give the edge to the Giants at home.
